Bastourma — beef cured, pressed and air-dried, then rubbed with a thick paste of garlic, paprika and fenugreek, sliced thin and vacuum packed.

Dark red, dense and salty, meant to be eaten in slivers rather than sandwiches: with bread and cheese, or laid over eggs. The Armenian and Middle Eastern cousin of pastrami, and the older of the two. Made in the USA.

Keep refrigerated. This is a chilled product — the pack says so, and it travels best on a short journey.
