Uncle Vanya Table Vinegar 9%, 16.9 fl oz (500ml)

Plain 9% table vinegar — the strength Russian and Ukrainian recipes assume when they say "vinegar" without qualifying it.

This matters when you are preserving. Most American vinegar is 5%, so a recipe written for 9% will come out slack and under-acidified if you substitute straight across. Keep a bottle of the right strength if you put up cucumbers, tomatoes or cabbage, or if you are making a marinade for shashlik.
