Dan Sukker Mörk Sirap Dark Syrup, 26.46 oz (750g)

The dark half of the Scandinavian baking cupboard. Beet and cane sugar syrup with a pinch of salt, cooked darker than the light ljus sirap — rounder, deeper, faintly liquorice.

This is what goes into pepparkakor, rye bread, brown beans and ruggbrød. Swedes reach for the dark bottle when a recipe wants colour and depth; the light one when it wants sweetness alone.

The bottle is marked in decilitres down the side so you can pour to a recipe without a jug. Made in Sweden by Nordic Sugar, to the original 1872 recipe.

Beet sugar syrup, cane sugar syrup, salt.

Net 750 g (26.46 oz). 100 g = 0.7 dl.
