Caffarel Piemonte Gianduja Chocolates with Whole Hazelnuts, 5.29 oz (150g)

Gianduja with a whole hazelnut inside each one. Caffarel invented gianduja in Turin in 1865, when Napoleon's blockade made cocoa scarce and Piedmontese confectioners stretched it with the hazelnuts growing on their doorstep. It is still made in the same valley.

Hazelnuts are the first ingredient — before the sugar, which is unusual and is the whole difference between this and a supermarket praline. The nut is whole, not ground, so each chocolate has something to bite.

The gold box is a gift box. It is also the one to open yourself after dinner with coffee.

Ingredients: hazelnuts, sugar, cocoa butter, dry whole milk, chocolate, nonfat dry milk, soy lecithin (an emulsifier), vanillin (artificial flavouring).
