Best served without milk — the tin says so, and it is the real difference between this and the Assams on the same shelf. Darjeeling is light and floral where a Kalami or Barooti is dark and brisk; milk simply flattens it. Brew 5 to 10 minutes.

The producer's own note, worth knowing before you open a second tin: "Due to the seasonal nature of Darjeeling tea characteristics, the colour of the infusion may be lighter, or darker, but this does not in any way affect the consistent high quality of taste."
