Carstens Katzenzungen Cat Tongues with Lübeck Marzipan, 3.5 oz (100g)

Katzenzungen — cat tongues — are long flat pieces named for their shape, and Carstens fills them with Lübeck marzipan at 67% and coats them in dark chocolate.

Two thirds marzipan is a high proportion, and Lübeck marzipan is held to a stricter almond standard than ordinary marzipan, so these taste of almond rather than sugar. The almonds are from California.

Ten pieces to the box, which is a giving size rather than a cupboard one. Carstens has made marzipan in Lübeck since 1845.
