The heart of it is baking. We carry Dr. Oetker properly — not two token boxes, but the working aisle: Gustin cornstarch, Sahnesteif and Käsekuchen Hilfe for setting cream and cheesecake, Tortenguss glaze, Bourbon vanilla sugar, instant yeast, pudding and Grießbrei. If you have ever tried to follow a German recipe with American substitutes, this is the shelf that fixes it.

Alongside it: Bahlsen Russisch Brot alphabet biscuits, Ferrero Hanuta wafers, Lambertz gingerbread, Dresden Christstollen and Dresdner Konfekt from Dr. Quendt, Burger and Delba breads, Bechtle Spätzle egg noodles, Grafschafter Goldsaft beet syrup, Breitsamer raw acacia and forest honey, and Funny-Frisch Chipsfrisch crisps for the people who know exactly which bag they want.

European Food Store has imported German food to Santa Rosa since 2011, and everything on this page except chocolate ships anywhere in the United States. Chocolate and marzipan travel to California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada and Arizona, because they do not survive a hot truck.
